Michael Maibach

Michael C. Maibach is a seasoned professional in global business diplomacy, advisor to civic organizations, widely engaged speaker on American history, and benefactor to worthy causes. While a college student he was elected to the DeKalb County Board (IL), the first person elected to public office under 21 years of age in US history.

Among his career highlights are these forms of international engagement:  

European-American Business Council: President & CEO. Brought EABC out of bankruptcy, grew membership from 7 to 75 global companies. Opened DC & Brussels Offices. One testimony before the US Congress, one before the European Parliament. (2003-2012)    

Intel Corporation:   In 1983 he established Intel's Government Affairs Department while serving as assistant to Intel co-founder Dr. Robert Noyce, inventor of the integrated circuit. Mr. Maibach also worked closely with Intel’s first four CEOs - Dr. Noyce, Dr. Gordon Moore (Moore's Law), Dr. Andy Grove (Time Man of the Year), and Dr. Craig Barrett. He opened Intel’s Washington, Brussels… and Beijing offices. He built a global team of 150+ Government Affairs professionals. Mr. Maibach was Intel’s first Vice President of Global Government Affairs. He testified eighteen times before the US Congress on behalf of Intel and industry associations. (1983-2001)

White House:  President Bush’s National Advisory Committee on Semiconductors/Assistant to Commission Member, Dr. Gordon Moore/Intel (1990-91). President Reagan’s Commission on Industrial Competitiveness/Assistant to Commission Member Dr. Robert Noyce/Intel (1983-85). 

US State Department: Member - Advisory Committee on International Communications & Information Policy (2012-16) & Member - Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy (2005-11).

World Affairs Councils:  Mr, Maibach has served on World Affairs Council Boards in three cities:  Peoria IL, San Jose CA, and Washington DC.  He also served for ten years on the World Affairs Council of America – the network’s national Board.  Mr. Maibach participated in the twelve track-two WACA Leadership Delegations: Central America (1987), Eastern Europe (1990), Turkey (1998), Taiwan (1999), Singapore (1999), Morocco (2000), Israel (2002), Egypt (2005), Germany as Trip Leader (2007), UAE (2008), Brazil (2009) & Iraq (2009).  In addition, he has spoken to 32 local World Affairs Councils on matters of international trade and business.
